Rancid (1993 album)
Rancid (1993 album) is the eponymous debut studio album by the American punk rock band Rancid. It was released in 1993 on Epitaph Records. Due to its brevity (only eight tracks and under 23 minutes in length), it is sometimes referred to as "Rancid (1993 EP)" or "Rancid (1st)." The album showcases the band's early, raw, and aggressive sound, heavily influenced by the then-burgeoning California punk scene. While not as commercially successful as their later work, Rancid (1993 album) is considered an important foundational album in Rancid's discography, establishing their trademark sound and laying the groundwork for their future success. The album's tracks feature fast tempos, distorted guitars, and the distinctive vocal styles of Tim Armstrong and Matt Freeman.
