Søren Christian Sommerfelt (diplomat)

Søren Christian Sommerfelt (born 1794, died 1838) was a Norwegian diplomat and military officer.

Sommerfelt began his career in the military, serving as an officer. He later transitioned to diplomatic service. He is best known for his role as the Swedish-Norwegian envoy to Russia in Saint Petersburg.

During his time as envoy, Sommerfelt was involved in negotiations and maintaining diplomatic relations between the union of Sweden and Norway and the Russian Empire. His work contributed to the political stability and trade relations between the involved nations during a period of significant European political shifts.

He was the son of botanist Søren Christian Sommerfelt.
