Rooster (band)

Rooster was a British rock band formed in London in 2002. They achieved moderate success in the mid-2000s with their debut album, "Rooster," released in 2005. The band's music was characterized by a blend of pop-rock and glam rock influences, often compared to bands like Def Leppard and Bon Jovi.

The original lineup consisted of Nick Atkinson (vocals), Luke Potashnick (guitar), Ben Smyth (bass), and Dave Neale (drums). Atkinson, previously a member of the band Exit State, was scouted after an audition held at the request of Matt Willis of Busted. Potashnick later left the band and was replaced by Adam Mole.

Rooster's debut single, "Come Get Some," was released in 2004 and reached the top 10 in the UK Singles Chart. Further singles included "Staring at the Sun," "You're Right," and "Good to Be Here." Their self-titled debut album followed in early 2005, achieving gold certification in the UK.

Despite their initial success, Rooster's popularity waned, and their second album, "Circles and Satellites," released in 2006, failed to replicate the success of their debut. The band subsequently disbanded.

After Rooster, various members pursued different musical projects. Nick Atkinson formed the band NICKA and continued to write and perform. Luke Potashnick pursued a career as a session musician and guitarist, working with artists such as KT Tunstall and Jamie Lawson. He also formed his own bands, The Temperance Movement and The Luke Potashnick Band.
