Cardiff West (Senedd constituency)
Cardiff West is a constituency of the Senedd (Welsh Parliament) and one of nine constituencies that cover the Cardiff region. It elects one Member of the Senedd (MS) by the first past the post system of election.
Boundaries:
The constituency covers the western parts of the city of Cardiff, including the electoral divisions of Caerau, Canton, Creigiau & St. Fagans, Ely, Fairwater, Llandaff, Radyr, and Riverside.
History:
The Cardiff West constituency was created for the first election to the Assembly (as it was then known) in 1999, with the same boundaries as the former parliamentary constituency of the same name.
Voting System:
As with all Senedd constituencies, the election uses the first-past-the-post system.
