Ron Blair

Ron Blair (born 1942) is an Australian playwright and novelist. He is best known for his play The Christian Brothers, a one-man show that explores the life and reflections of a Catholic teacher at an all-boys school. The Christian Brothers premiered in 1975 and has been widely performed since, becoming a staple of Australian theatre.

Blair's work often delves into themes of Australian identity, religion, and social commentary. He has written extensively for stage, radio, and television. His other plays include Last Day in Woolloomooloo and Marx, and he adapted Sumner Locke Elliott's novel Careful, He Might Hear You for television. His novel The Man Who Owned the World was published in 1992. Blair's contributions have made him a significant figure in Australian literature and theatre.
