Rocky Mountain Rangers (1885)

The Rocky Mountain Rangers were a Canadian militia infantry regiment raised in 1885 in response to the North-West Rebellion. The regiment was mobilized to assist in quelling the uprising led by Louis Riel. Composed primarily of volunteers from communities in what is now Alberta and British Columbia, the Rocky Mountain Rangers played a role in maintaining order and providing support to other forces deployed in the region. The regiment was disbanded after the conclusion of the rebellion in 1885.
