FXpansion
FXpansion was a British music software company specializing in virtual instruments, effects plugins, and audio software. They were known for their high-quality audio processing algorithms and innovative user interfaces.
Founded in 1999, FXpansion developed several popular products for professional musicians and audio engineers, including:
- BFD: A realistic acoustic drum software instrument.
- Strobe: A virtual analog synthesizer.
- DCAM Synth Squad: A collection of software synthesizers.
- Tremor: A drum synthesizer.
- Geist: A software sampler and sequencer.
In 2016, FXpansion was acquired by ROLI Ltd, a company known for their Seaboard musical instrument. Following the acquisition, some FXpansion products were integrated into ROLI's ecosystem, while others were discontinued. In 2021, ROLI sold FXpansion to InMusic Brands.
