WEIU (FM)

WEIU (FM) is a non-commercial, public radio station licensed to Charleston, Illinois, and serving the central Illinois region. It operates at 88.9 MHz with a broadcast power of 100,000 watts. WEIU is owned and operated by Eastern Illinois University (EIU) and serves as a training ground for students in EIU's Department of Communication Studies.

The station's programming primarily consists of news, talk, and classical music, along with some jazz and folk programming. It carries nationally syndicated programming from National Public Radio (NPR), Public Radio International (PRI), and American Public Media (APM). Popular programs include Morning Edition, All Things Considered, Wait Wait... Don't Tell Me!, and classical music broadcasts.
