East Perthshire (UK Parliament constituency)

East Perthshire was a constituency of the Parliament of the United Kingdom from 1918 to 1950. It elected one Member of Parliament (MP) by the first past the post system.

History:

The constituency was created as a result of the Representation of the People Act 1918, which significantly redrew constituency boundaries across the United Kingdom. East Perthshire replaced the eastern portion of the previous Perthshire constituency.

It comprised the eastern portion of the county of Perthshire, including burghs such as Blairgowrie and Rattray.

In 1950, the constituency was abolished, and its territory was largely incorporated into the Perth and East Perthshire constituency.
