John Robson (public servant)
John Robson (born 1956) is a former Canadian public servant and academic known for his work in fiscal policy, healthcare reform, and public sector management. He has held several senior positions in government and has also contributed significantly to policy debates through his writing and public commentary.
Robson is perhaps best known for his tenure as the President and CEO of the Canadian Council for Chief Executives (CCCE), a role he held from 2004 to 2015. At the CCCE, he represented the interests of Canada's largest companies and advocated for policies aimed at improving Canada's economic competitiveness.
Prior to his role at the CCCE, Robson served as the Senior Vice-President, Policy and Research at the C.D. Howe Institute, a prominent Canadian think tank. He also held positions in the federal government, including serving as a policy advisor to the Minister of Finance.
Robson holds degrees from McGill University and the London School of Economics. He is a frequent commentator on public policy issues in Canadian media and has authored numerous articles and reports on topics related to economics, healthcare, and governance.
