Parnell Hall (writer)

Parnell Hall (born July 31, 1944) is an American mystery novelist and short story writer. He is best known for his series featuring Stanley Hastings, a struggling New York City lawyer who often finds himself embroiled in murder investigations. Hall's writing style is characterized by its light tone, humor, and intricate plotting.

Beyond the Stanley Hastings series, Hall has also written several other mystery novels and series, including those featuring crossword puzzle editor Cora Felton, and private investigator Steve Ford. He has also written under the pseudonym J. P. Hailey.
