Richard Collins (bishop)
Richard Collins (born c. 1947) is a retired Irish Roman Catholic bishop. He served as the Bishop of Dromore from 2001 to 2018.
Collins was born in County Mayo and ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Tuam in 1972. Prior to his appointment as bishop, he served in various pastoral roles within the archdiocese, including parish priest and archdiocesan secretary.
He was appointed Bishop of Dromore by Pope John Paul II on 24 January 2001 and consecrated on 8 April 2001. During his tenure, he focused on issues of pastoral care, education, and ecumenical relations within the diocese.
Collins retired as Bishop of Dromore on 19 March 2018. He was succeeded by Bishop Philip Boyce.
