Andy Kim

Andy Kim (born July 12, 1982) is an American politician serving as the U.S. Representative for New Jersey's 3rd congressional district since 2019. He is a member of the Democratic Party.

Prior to his election to Congress, Kim worked as a national security official, serving under President Barack Obama as a national security advisor focusing on counterterrorism. He also served at the Pentagon as a civilian advisor on Iraq and Afghanistan.

Kim defeated incumbent Republican Tom MacArthur in the 2018 midterm elections. He was re-elected in 2020 and 2022.

During his time in Congress, Kim has focused on issues such as healthcare affordability, environmental protection, and economic opportunity. He has served on the House Armed Services Committee, the House Foreign Affairs Committee, and the House Small Business Committee.
