IROC XII
IROC XII, also known as the 1984 International Race of Champions season, was the twelfth season of the IROC series. This season saw twelve prominent race car drivers from various racing disciplines, including IndyCar, NASCAR, and Formula One, competing in identically prepared Chevrolet Camaros. The series consisted of four races held at Riverside International Raceway, Atlanta Motor Speedway, and the Daytona International Speedway (twice). Cale Yarborough won the championship, marking his only IROC title. Other notable drivers who participated in IROC XII included Mario Andretti, Bobby Allison, and Tom Sneva. The season continued IROC's tradition of showcasing driver talent by eliminating advantages related to equipment, focusing solely on driver skill and strategy.
