Repin (crater)
Repin is a small lunar impact crater that lies on the far side of the Moon, beyond the range of direct visibility from Earth. It is located within the Mare Moscoviense, a lunar mare situated in the Moscoviense basin.
Repin is a relatively simple, bowl-shaped crater. It has a well-defined rim, and the interior is comparatively featureless. The crater lacks a central peak, a common characteristic of smaller lunar craters.
Repin lies near the eastern edge of Mare Moscoviense. To the northeast of Repin is the crater Feoktistov, a larger and more prominent feature. Further to the southwest are the craters Komarov and Titov.
The crater was officially named after Russian painter Ilya Repin by the International Astronomical Union (IAU).
