RA Centre
The RA Centre (also known as the Recreation Association of the Public Service of Canada) is a non-profit, member-owned organization located in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Founded in 1945, it primarily serves current and former public service employees, as well as members of the general public, by providing a wide range of recreational, athletic, and social activities and facilities.
The RA Centre's facilities include multiple sports fields, an arena, a curling rink, tennis courts, squash courts, a fitness centre, a gymnasium, swimming pools (both indoor and outdoor), lawn bowling greens, and banquet halls. It also offers various programs and leagues for adults and children in sports such as hockey, curling, tennis, swimming, and soccer, among others. Furthermore, the RA Centre hosts numerous special events, including concerts, dances, and social gatherings, throughout the year. The organization is governed by a board of directors elected by its membership. Its mission is to promote health, wellness, and social interaction within the community it serves.
