Kirkenær

Kirkenær is a village located in the municipality of Grue, in Innlandet county, Norway. It serves as the administrative center of Grue municipality.

Kirkenær is situated in the traditional district of Glåmdalen, along the Glomma river. The village is known for its church, Grue Church (Grue kirke), which has historical significance. The original church, a medieval stave church, burned down in 1822 in a devastating fire that resulted in numerous fatalities. The current church, a brick church, was built in its place.

Economically, Kirkenær is supported by agriculture, forestry, and some small industries. It also serves as a local service center for the surrounding rural areas.
