Melimoyu

Melimoyu is a stratovolcano located in the Aysén Region of Chile. It is characterized by a prominent ice-filled caldera at its summit. The volcano's name is derived from the Mapudungun language, where "meli" means "four" and "moyu" means "breast," likely referring to the volcano's shape as seen from certain perspectives.

Melimoyu has not experienced any confirmed historical eruptions. However, tephra layers found in the surrounding area suggest past explosive activity, though the exact dates of these eruptions remain uncertain.
