Swan House (Atlanta)

The Swan House is a historic mansion located in Atlanta, Georgia, United States, within the Buckhead neighborhood. It is part of the Atlanta History Center and is a significant example of Beaux-Arts architecture. Designed by architect Philip Trammell Shutze in 1928 and completed in 1929, the Swan House served as the residence of Edward and Emily Inman.

The house is notable for its elaborate interior design, featuring classical motifs and extensive gardens designed in Italian and English styles. The name "Swan House" is derived from Mrs. Inman's love of swans, which are incorporated into various decorative elements throughout the house and gardens.

Following Emily Inman's death in 1965, the Atlanta Historical Society (now the Atlanta History Center) purchased the property in 1966. It was opened to the public in 1967 as a house museum.

The Swan House is a popular tourist attraction and is available for tours and events. Its architectural significance and preserved condition have also made it a sought-after filming location, most notably as President Snow's mansion in "The Hunger Games" film series.
