WDAL (Jacksonville, Florida)
WDAL is a defunct AM radio station that was licensed to Jacksonville, Florida. It broadcast on a frequency of 1320 kHz. The station was owned by the Radio Jax Corporation.
WDAL operated as a daytimer, meaning it was required to cease broadcasting at sunset to protect the signal of a co-channel station. The station's programming primarily consisted of urban contemporary music.
The call letters WDAL were previously assigned to a television station in Florence, Alabama (now WHDF). The Jacksonville station adopted the WDAL call sign in the late 1990s after the Florence station changed its call letters.
The license for WDAL was cancelled by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) on June 24, 2005, due to the station's failure to file a renewal application. The station had been silent for an extended period prior to the license cancellation.
