Labutta
Labutta is a town located in the Ayeyarwady Region of Myanmar (formerly Burma). Situated in the Ayeyarwady Delta, it is primarily known as an agricultural center, with rice cultivation being a major economic activity. Labutta suffered extensive damage and loss of life during Cyclone Nargis in May 2008. The cyclone devastated the region, causing widespread flooding, destruction of infrastructure, and a significant humanitarian crisis. Recovery and rebuilding efforts have been ongoing since the disaster. Labutta is part of the Labutta Township, and the town serves as a local administrative center. Access to Labutta can be challenging, particularly during the monsoon season, due to the delta's complex waterways and limited road infrastructure.
