6th Electoral Unit of Republika Srpska (NSRS)

The 6th Electoral Unit of Republika Srpska is one of the multi-member electoral districts used for elections to the National Assembly of Republika Srpska (Narodna Skupština Republike Srpske, NSRS). Republika Srpska, one of the two entities comprising Bosnia and Herzegovina, is divided into several electoral units for the purpose of proportional representation in its parliament. The 6th Electoral Unit encompasses specific municipalities and/or regions within Republika Srpska. The number of seats allocated to each electoral unit is determined by population size and is subject to change based on demographic shifts. Candidates representing various political parties and independent candidates compete for these seats. The specific municipalities included in the 6th Electoral Unit, and the number of seats it is allocated, are defined by the election laws of Republika Srpska and are subject to periodic review and amendment. Results from the 6th Electoral Unit, along with those from the other electoral units, determine the overall composition of the National Assembly. The Assembly then plays a crucial role in the government of Republika Srpska, including electing the government and passing legislation. The composition and results of elections within the 6th Electoral Unit can significantly reflect and influence the political landscape of Republika Srpska.
