CBTIS (high school)
CBTIS, or Centro de Bachillerato Tecnológico Industrial y de Servicios, is a system of public upper secondary schools in Mexico. These schools offer both academic and vocational training, allowing students to complete their high school education while also acquiring technical skills in a specific field. Upon graduation, students receive a bachillerato, enabling them to pursue higher education, and a technical certificate relevant to their chosen specialization, making them employable. The curriculum generally includes core academic subjects like mathematics, science, language, and social studies, as well as specialized courses related to the chosen technical area. The technical specializations offered can vary by school but often include fields like computer science, accounting, mechanics, electronics, and tourism. CBTIS schools are part of the Dirección General de Educación Tecnológica Industrial y de Servicios (DGETI), a branch of the Mexican Ministry of Education.
