John Hassall (musician)

John Hassall (born 22 July 1981) is an English musician, best known as the bassist for the indie rock band The Libertines, as well as the frontman for his own band, Yeti.

Hassall joined The Libertines in 2001, replacing the band's original bassist. He remained a member throughout the band's initial run, contributing to both of their studio albums, Up the Bracket (2002) and The Libertines (2004). Following The Libertines' initial breakup in 2004, Hassall formed his own band, Yeti, where he served as the lead vocalist and guitarist. Yeti released their debut album, The Legend of Yeti Gonzales, in 2008.

In addition to his work with The Libertines and Yeti, Hassall has also pursued other musical projects. He has collaborated with various artists and contributed to film soundtracks.

The Libertines reformed in 2014, and Hassall rejoined the band. They have since released two further albums, Anthems for Doomed Youth (2015) and All Quiet on the Eastern Esplanade (2024). He continues to tour and record with The Libertines.
