Queen Bee (band)

Queen Bee, stylized as QUEEN BEE or Ziyoou-vachi (女王蜂), is a Japanese rock band formed in Kobe in 2009. They are known for their androgynous appearance, eclectic musical style blending elements of rock, punk, disco, and electronica, and their distinctive visual aesthetic.

History:

The band was formed by vocalist Avu-chan, guitarist Hibari, bassist Yashi, and drummer Ruri. They gained underground popularity through live performances and independent releases before signing with Sony Music Associated Records. Their major label debut album, Witch Hunt, was released in 2011.

Over the years, Queen Bee has undergone some line-up changes. The current lineup consists of Avu-chan (vocals), Hibari (guitar), Yashi (bass), and new drummer, Ginji.

Musical Style and Influences:

Queen Bee's music is characterized by Avu-chan's unique vocal delivery and the band's genre-bending approach. They draw inspiration from a wide range of musical styles, including glam rock, alternative rock, J-rock, and dance music. Lyrically, their songs often explore themes of identity, sexuality, and social commentary.
