Pyrénée

The term "Pyrénée" is the French spelling of "Pyrenees," the name of a major mountain range in southwestern Europe. The Pyrenees Mountains form a natural border between France and Spain.

The mountain range extends for about 491 kilometers (305 miles) from the Bay of Biscay (Atlantic Ocean) to the Mediterranean Sea. They are characterized by high peaks, deep valleys, and glacial lakes. The highest peak is Aneto, at 3,404 meters (11,168 feet).

The Pyrenees have a rich cultural history, with distinct regional traditions on both the French and Spanish sides. The region is also known for its diverse flora and fauna, and is a popular destination for hiking, skiing, and other outdoor activities. The Principality of Andorra is located within the eastern Pyrenees.
