Polyanka (Moscow Metro)

Polyanka is a station on the Serpukhovsko-Timiryazevskaya Line (Line 9) of the Moscow Metro. It is located in the Yakimanka District of Moscow, Russia. The station opened on January 23, 1983, as part of the southern extension of the line.

Location and Design:

Polyanka is situated deep underground, featuring a pylon tri-vault design. The central hall's pylons are faced with grey marble and decorated with metallic reliefs depicting historical figures and scenes related to science and technology, particularly space exploration. The walls along the platforms are clad in white marble. The floor is patterned with grey and black granite.

Name:

The station's name derives from the historical Polyanka Street, located above the station. The street itself is named after a historical open space or "polyana" (glade) that once existed in the area.

Polyanka does not offer direct transfers to other metro lines.

Exits:

The station has two exits, both leading to Polyanka Street and Bolshaya Polyanka Street. The vestibules are connected to the platform by escalators.
