David Ward (Surrey cricketer)

David Ward was an English cricketer who played first-class cricket for Surrey between 1970 and 1978. A right-handed batsman and occasional right-arm medium-pace bowler, Ward played 63 first-class matches, scoring 2,178 runs at an average of 23.41, with a highest score of 108. He also took 10 wickets at an average of 43.60. He made his debut against Oxford University in 1970. While primarily a top-order batsman, he did not consistently hold down a regular place in the Surrey side, facing strong competition for places. Ward also played List A cricket, appearing in 15 matches and scoring 201 runs.
