Pihlalaid

Pihlalaid is a small, uninhabited islet located in the Väinameri Strait, part of the West Estonian archipelago. Administratively, it belongs to the Lääneranna Parish of Pärnu County, Estonia.

The islet is primarily characterized by its low-lying, rocky terrain and sparse vegetation, often consisting of bushes and grasses adapted to the coastal environment. The name "Pihlalaid" is derived from the Estonian word "pihlakas," meaning rowan tree, suggesting the presence of these trees or similar shrubs at some point, though they may not be prominent currently.

Pihlalaid is important as a habitat for various seabirds and provides a resting place for migrating birds.
