Hartwig (lunar crater)
Hartwig is a lunar impact crater that lies on the far side of the Moon. It is located to the west-southwest of the larger crater Fersman, and southeast of the crater Hinshelwood.
This is a moderately eroded crater, with a somewhat irregular outer rim that has been softened by subsequent impacts. There are a few small craterlets along the rim edge and inner walls. The interior floor is relatively level, but marked by several tiny craterlets. There is a slight central rise located near the midpoint of the floor.
Hartwig is located within the Mendel-Rydberg Basin, a broad, poorly defined depression.
