Peter Simple (horse)

Peter Simple was a British Thoroughbred racehorse foaled in 1849. He was notable for winning the 1853 Grand National at Aintree. His owner was Mr. Bretherton, and he was trained by I. Taylor. Peter Simple carried a weight of 10 stone 12 pounds in his Grand National victory. Little further information regarding his breeding or subsequent racing career (beyond his National win) appears readily available in accessible historical racing records.
