Lemonade Mouth (film)

Lemonade Mouth is a 2011 American teen musical drama film that premiered on Disney Channel on April 15, 2011. Directed by Patricia Riggen, it is based on the 2007 novel of the same name by Mark Peter Hughes. The film follows five high school students – Olivia, Stella, Wen, Charlie, and Mo – who meet in detention and form a band called Lemonade Mouth.

The story revolves around the band's formation, their rise to popularity, and their struggles against the school administration, which is headed by Principal Brenigan, who prioritizes athletics over the arts and imposes strict rules. The film explores themes of individuality, standing up for what you believe in, the power of music, and friendship.

The band's music, characterized by its pop-rock sound and socially conscious lyrics, quickly gains a following among the students. They use their music to protest various issues, including the school's sponsorship of a soda company and the restrictive policies that stifle student expression.

The film stars Bridgit Mendler, Adam Hicks, Hayley Kiyoko, Blake Michael, and Naomi Scott as the members of Lemonade Mouth. It also features Chris Brochu as Ray Beech, a rival band member, and Tisha Campbell-Martin as Miss Reznick, the music teacher who encourages the band.

Lemonade Mouth was a commercial success for Disney Channel, attracting a large viewership and generating positive reviews for its music and message. The soundtrack for the film also performed well on the Billboard charts. Although a sequel was initially considered, Disney ultimately decided not to pursue one.
