Peter Harvey (cricketer, born 1926)
Peter Harvey (born 27 May 1926, Paddington, New South Wales, died 20 December 1966, Sydney, New South Wales) was an Australian cricketer who played in 4 Test matches between 1950 and 1953.
A right-handed batsman and occasional right-arm medium-pace bowler, Harvey played first-class cricket for New South Wales from 1948/49 to 1957/58. His highest first-class score was 205 not out against South Australia in 1952/53.
Harvey was selected for the Australian Test team to tour South Africa in 1949/50 but did not play a Test. He made his Test debut against England in the Fourth Test of the 1950/51 Ashes series in Sydney, scoring 18 and 11. He played in the Fifth Test of the same series and then two further Tests against South Africa in 1952/53. He achieved a highest Test score of 42 against South Africa.
After retiring from first-class cricket, Harvey remained involved in the sport as a coach and administrator. He died in 1966 at the age of 40.
