Per Mohn

Per Mohn (born April 13, 1933, died July 24, 2022) was a Norwegian business executive and philanthropist. He was best known for his long tenure as the chief executive officer of Frank Mohn AS, a major manufacturer of pumps and other equipment for the shipping and oil industries.

Mohn took over leadership of the family-owned Frank Mohn AS from his father in 1967 and led the company through a period of significant growth and international expansion. Under his guidance, the company became a global leader in its field. He stepped down as CEO in 2005, but remained involved in the company as chairman of the board.

Beyond his business achievements, Mohn was a prominent philanthropist. He made substantial donations to a variety of causes, including medical research, education, and the arts. Notably, he supported the University of Bergen, contributing significantly to the construction of new buildings and the establishment of research programs. His philanthropic efforts earned him recognition and awards both in Norway and internationally. Mohn was known for his low-profile approach to philanthropy, preferring to let his actions speak for themselves.

He received his degree from the Norwegian School of Economics (NHH).
