Archerus

Archerus is a location within the Shadowlands, the afterlife in the World of Warcraft universe. Specifically, it is a floating necropolis and the primary base of operations for the Ebon Blade, a faction comprised primarily of Death Knights.

Archerus is not a naturally occurring location but was rather constructed and transported to the Shadowlands. It originated on Azeroth and served as a mobile fortress for the Lich King's forces. Following the defeat of Arthas Menethil, the Lich King, the Ebon Blade, led by Darion Mograine, eventually broke free from his control and claimed Archerus for themselves.

In the Shadowlands, Archerus serves as a crucial hub for the Ebon Blade as they navigate the complexities and dangers of the realms of death. It provides a defensible position and a base from which they can pursue their goals, which often involve combating the forces of the Jailer and maintaining a delicate balance between the living and the dead. The necropolis allows them to research necromantic arts and train new generations of Death Knights within the afterlife.
