Patrie (1946 film)
Patrie is a 1946 French historical drama film directed by Louis Daquin. It is based on the play of the same name by Victorien Sardou.
The film tells the story of the Dutch patriot Karloo Van den Bosch (played by Pierre Blanchar) who fights for the independence of the Netherlands from Spanish rule in the 16th century. He becomes embroiled in a complex web of political intrigue and personal betrayal as he attempts to rally his countrymen against the tyrannical Duke of Alba.
