Attila (album)

Attila is the self-titled debut studio album by the American heavy metal band Attila, released in 1970 on Epic Records. It is notable for being the first album of Billy Joel's post-Hassles project, a two-man band consisting of Joel on organ and Jon Small on drums. The album is characterized by its heavy, psychedelic, and experimental sound, relying heavily on the distortion and effects produced by Joel's Hammond organ. It was not commercially successful and is generally regarded as a critical failure. The album's artwork features Joel and Small dressed as barbarians, reflecting the band's name which refers to Attila the Hun. The album was quickly discontinued after its release.
