Bill Heatley (footballer)

Bill Heatley was an Australian rules footballer who played for Fitzroy in the Victorian Football League (VFL) during the 1950s.

Heatley, a rover, was recruited from Preston Scouts. He debuted for Fitzroy in 1952 and played 101 senior VFL games for the club, primarily during the period when Fitzroy struggled after their 1944 premiership. He was known for his tenacity and ball-winning ability. Heatley represented Victoria in interstate football. After leaving Fitzroy, he continued to be involved in football at a local level. His contributions to Fitzroy earned him Life Membership of the club.
