Ou Daren
Ou Daren (simplified Chinese: 欧大人; traditional Chinese: 歐大人; pinyin: Ōu Dàrén) is a Chinese honorific title traditionally used to respectfully address individuals with the surname Ou, implying that the person is of high social standing, respected, and/or holds a position of authority. It translates literally as "Lord Ou" or "Master Ou." The term "Daren" (大人) itself is a general honorific, signifying respect and often used towards government officials, respected elders, or individuals of significant influence. The addition of the surname "Ou" specifically denotes that the individual being addressed carries that family name. The frequency of usage has diminished in modern China, although it can still be encountered in historical dramas, literature, and sometimes in formal settings to show deference to an older or highly respected person named Ou.
