Otto Wanz
Otto Wanz (June 13, 1943 – September 14, 2017) was an Austrian professional wrestler, promoter, and actor. He was one of the most prominent figures in European professional wrestling during the latter half of the 20th century.
Wanz achieved international recognition as a two-time CWA World Heavyweight Champion. He founded the Catch Wrestling Association (CWA) in 1973, which became a leading wrestling promotion in Europe, particularly in Austria and Germany. Wanz ran the CWA for several decades, promoting shows and nurturing wrestling talent. His promotional efforts played a significant role in the growth of professional wrestling in the European market.
Known for his powerful physique and aggressive wrestling style, Wanz was a popular figure among fans.
