Allure (album)
Allure is the self-titled debut studio album by the American R&B group Allure, released in 1997 on MCA Records. The album spawned three singles: "Head Over Heels" (featuring Nas), "All Cried Out" (featuring 112), and "No Question."
The album was executive produced by Trackmasters, Poke & Tone, and Cory Rooney. Musically, Allure incorporates elements of contemporary R&B, hip hop soul, and quiet storm. Lyrically, the songs focus on themes of love, relationships, and heartbreak.
Allure achieved commercial success, peaking at number 29 on the Billboard 200 chart and number 7 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. It was certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). Critical reception to the album was mixed, with some critics praising the group's harmonies and sophisticated production, while others found the songwriting to be formulaic.
