Magic Tour (Bruce Springsteen)
The Magic Tour was a concert tour by Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band that took place from October 2007 to August 2008. It was launched in support of Springsteen's album Magic, released in October 2007. The tour spanned North America and Europe, featuring a mix of songs from the Magic album, classic Springsteen favorites, and covers.
Highlights of the tour included the return of "Growin' Up" to the setlist after a long absence, and the frequent performance of songs related to the political and social climate of the time, often introduced with Springsteen's commentary. The tour also saw a focus on the impact of the Iraq War.
Tragically, the Magic Tour was interrupted by the death of E Street Band keyboardist Danny Federici in April 2008 due to melanoma. Federici had already taken a leave of absence from the tour due to his illness, with Charles Giordano filling in. After Federici's passing, the remaining shows of the tour were dedicated to his memory. The final leg of the tour concluded in August 2008.
