Oskison (crater)

Oskison is a small impact crater located on the Moon's far side. It lies within the slightly larger crater Papaleksi, situated on Papaleksi's inner wall, near the northwestern edge.

The crater is named after John Milton Oskison, a Native American writer and journalist (1874-1947).

Oskison is relatively well-defined, with a sharp, circular rim and a bowl-shaped interior. Its features show little sign of significant erosion. It is a common characteristic of smaller craters like Oskison to have a relatively pristine appearance compared to larger, older craters that have been subjected to billions of years of micrometeoroid bombardment and other forms of degradation.

Due to its location on the far side of the Moon, Oskison is not visible from Earth. Information about the crater is primarily obtained through lunar orbiters and mapping missions.
