Ogosta

Ogosta is a town in northwestern Bulgaria, located in Montana Province. It is situated on the banks of the Ogosta River, near the Georgi Damyanovo municipality. The town's name is derived from the river.

Historically, the area around Ogosta has been inhabited since ancient times, with evidence of Thracian and Roman presence. Modern Ogosta developed primarily in the 20th century.

The local economy is largely agricultural, with some light industry. The region is known for its vineyards and fruit orchards.
