Debye (crater)
Debye is a lunar impact crater located on the far side of the Moon. It lies to the north of the larger crater Appell, and southwest of Chrétien.
This crater is moderately eroded, with a somewhat rounded outer rim. A number of small craters lie along the rim and within the interior. The most notable of these are a pair of small craters that lie along the northwestern rim. The interior floor is relatively level and marked by several small craterlets.
Debye is named after the Dutch-American physicist and chemist Peter Debye, who won the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1936.
