Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds (album)

Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds is the debut self-titled studio album by the British rock band of the same name, led by former Oasis guitarist and songwriter Noel Gallagher. It was released on 17 October 2011 in the United Kingdom and a day later in the United States. The album was written almost entirely by Noel Gallagher, with contributions from former Oasis keyboardist Mike Rowe and drummer Jeremy Stacey.

The album's recording took place at several studios, including Gallagher's own Wheeler End Studios in Oxfordshire, as well as in London and Los Angeles. Production was primarily handled by Gallagher himself, alongside Dave Sardy. The album's sound is generally considered to be a continuation of the later Oasis sound, albeit with a more polished and orchestrated approach, featuring string arrangements and orchestral elements.

Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds spawned several singles, including "The Death of You and Me," "AKA... What a Life!," "If I Had a Gun..." and "Everybody's on the Run." The album was a commercial success, reaching number one on the UK Albums Chart and achieving platinum certification. It also charted well internationally. Critically, the album received generally positive reviews, with many critics praising Gallagher's songwriting and the album's mature sound. The album was followed by extensive touring and festival appearances.
