New World (The Zombies album)

New World is the sixth studio album by the British rock band The Zombies, released in 1991. It marked the band's official reunion after a lengthy hiatus and featured original members Colin Blunstone and Rod Argent, along with new musicians.

The album attempted to recapture the sophisticated pop sound that characterized The Zombies' earlier work, particularly their acclaimed Odessey and Oracle album. While New World received positive reviews from some critics for its musicianship and vocal harmonies, it did not achieve the same level of commercial success or critical acclaim as their 1960s recordings.

The songs on New World were primarily written by Rod Argent, with contributions from other band members. The album's sound incorporated elements of progressive rock and art pop alongside the band's signature melodic sensibilities. Tracks include "New World," "Time of the Season," (a re-recording of their classic hit), and "Knowing You."

New World represented a renewed effort for The Zombies to connect with both long-time fans and a new audience after decades apart. It demonstrated their continuing musical abilities and songwriting talent, albeit within the context of a significantly changed musical landscape.
