Ashtrayhead (album)
Ashtrayhead is the debut studio album by the American alternative rock band, The Velveteens. Released in 1999, the album showcased the band's raw, garage rock sound and quickly gained a cult following. It is characterized by its lo-fi production, catchy melodies, and introspective lyrics often dealing with themes of alienation and urban decay. While Ashtrayhead did not achieve mainstream success, it is considered an influential album within the indie rock scene of the late 1990s and early 2000s, and helped to define the band's signature sound. Key tracks include "Cigarette Burns," "Broken Radios," and the title track, "Ashtrayhead." The album was originally released on vinyl and CD by an independent record label. It has since been re-released on multiple occasions and remains a staple in the band's discography.
