Ongaku

Ongaku (音楽) is the Japanese word for music. It encompasses a wide range of musical genres, styles, and forms, both traditional and modern, found within Japan and internationally. It's a broad term that doesn't differentiate between Western classical music, pop music, folk music, or any other type of musical expression. Ongaku represents the art of organized sound with the intention of conveying emotion, aesthetics, or cultural meaning. The characters themselves, 音楽, translate literally to "sound pleasure" or "sound comfort."
