Murray Ryan (Canadian politician)

Murray Ryan (born August 22, 1922, died March 20, 2016) was a Canadian politician who served as a Progressive Conservative Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) in the province of New Brunswick. He represented the electoral district of Miramichi Bay from 1970 to 1991.

Ryan was born in Newcastle, New Brunswick. Before entering politics, he worked in the business sector. He served as the Speaker of the New Brunswick Legislative Assembly from 1987 to 1991. During his time in the legislature, he was involved in various committees and contributed to policy debates on matters relating to the Miramichi region and the province as a whole. He was known for his advocacy for his constituents and his dedication to public service.

Following his retirement from politics in 1991, Ryan remained active in his community.
